The Paris Air Show is the world's oldest and largest air show. Established in 1909, it is held every other year at Le Bourget Airport to the north of Paris.
2011 saw the 49th venue with many highlights such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Boeing 747-8i and 747-8f, Airbus A380, A400M and Solar Impulse.The usual Airbus-Boeing battle was easily won this year by Airbus, with a total of 910 orders worth USD 88 billion. Of these orders 661 were for the new A320 NEO (New Engine Option). Boeing got 141 orders worth USD 22 billion.
2011 also saw the entry of COMAC to the show. COMAC is believed to become a rival to Airbus and Boeing in the future.
